TCL Headphones & Earbuds Aim at Diverse Buyers
TCL is addressing headphone buyer demographics on all fronts this year. It is beginning to ship models in the headphone and earbud lines it announced at CES 2019, and it showed some of the products at the recent Pepcom NYC event.
The headphone lines range in style including in-ear and on-ear and are each targeted with features for specific consumer profiles; they are: SOCL (age range: 12-25 group), MTRO (18-30 age group), ACTV (25-50 age group; designed for active- and fitness-minded consumers), and ELIT (25-50 age group).
TCL’s Mitch Smith is holding the ELIT400NC on-ear active noise-cancelling wireless headphones ($99.99). They feature 40mm high-resolution drivers, and a 25-minute charge will keep the music going for up to four hours. Their ergonomics, says TCL, are enhanced by their oval acoustic tube design that enables long-term usage. A built-in microphone lets the wearer receive calls on the fly, and an in-line remote enables easy control of functions such as volume adjustment and accepting or rejecting calls.
