$19 Billion Market for Home Telework Products As Policies Encourage Energy Savings
As energy conservation and environmental protection become an embedded part of the American culture activities such as "telecommuting" and "telework" will play a bigger role in the national economy.
Economists and social analysts expect these energy and environmental issues to move rapidly from "idealism" to practicality, especially among young workers, during the coming years after decades of dreamy experiments and pronouncements.
Add in the growing contingent of self-employed home workers (that is, people who have been laid off during the current economic slump and may never go back to an office workplace), and the telework opportunity becomes even greater. Federal authorities, including Aneesh Chopra, the White House's Chief Technology Officer, are strongly supporting telework projects in government and in the private sector.
