What They’re Thinking: Jack Wayman
I moved up the ladder, with better accounts in town. I handled (the Washington, D.C., department store chain) Woodward & Lothrop and moved them to drop Zenith and others to become exclusively RCA. Best thing I ever did. Handled that account personally.
I also served as RCA’s advertising manager and exhibit manager to produce semi-annual shows for some 100 retail accounts.
We’d take a hotel room and make a show. We’d call in the dealers, put them up for a night, wine them and dine them and they would buy. I really got into the trade show business by designing the RCA exhibits.
