The average American home this year has 2.86 TV sets, while more than half of households have three or more. Those are among the conclusions of the Television Audience Report, which was released this week by Nielsen and Co.
The survey also found that the average U.S. home has more TVs than people.
The number of TVs per household rose 18 percent from 2000, and 54 percent now have three TVs or more. Other findings included that 38% of U.S. TV homes have digital cable service, while 88 percent have at least one DVD player.
