Two Innovation Bills Pass House, Are Praised by CEA
A pair of bills, both tied to giving expanded funding to scientific innovation, overwhelmingly passed the U.S. House of Representatives last week.
H.R. 1867, which grants National Science Foundation $21 billion through 2010, passed the House by a vote of 399-17 on Wednesday, Congressional Quarterly reported. The following day, a companion bill called H.R. 1868, which would grant similar reauthorization to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, passed the House the following day. It now awaits Senate approval and the president’s signature.
The Consumer Electronics Association praised the passage.
