Sale Rumors Tie Up RadioShack Aid
The city government in Fort Worth, Tex., has decided to hold off on a deal to provide incentives to RadioShack to keep its headquarters there, amid reports that the company may soon be sold.
According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram the $10.7 million package, which consisted of tax breaks and rebates, was set to be voted on this week, but that vote has now been tabled. It was proposed last year when the company made noises about moving to another city.
The New York Post reported last week that several private equity firms, including The Blackstone Group, are eyeing a possible purchase of the chain.
