CEA Applauds New CIO, Trade Rep
The Consumer Electronics Association has praised President Obama for appointing Vivek Kundra and Ron Kirk to the positions of Federal Chief Information Officer and U.S. Trade Representative, respectively.
CEA also urged Kirk's quick confirmation. Kundra, in the newly created position of CIO, does not require Senate confirmation.
"Vivek Kundra, through his experience as the District of Colombia's chief technology officer and Virginia's assistant secretary of technology, has shown that he is well capable of satisfying that pledge," CEA President/CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement. CEA's offices are based in Virginia, across the river from Washington.
