CEA Sees Less Growth in Gadget Spending
Spending on gadgets is expected to grow this holiday season, albeit at a rate about half of last year's number. That's according to figures being released today by the Consumer Electronics Association, as first reported by the New York Times.
The industry group sees consumer spending growing 3.5 percent over the holidays, compared with around 7 percent for last year's season.
CEA saw demand rising for such categories as mobile phones, A/V equipment, video game consoles and televisions, but falling for cameras, laptop computers, music players and video games.
