CEA Starts Consumption Working Group
The Consumer Electronics Association said last week that it has relaunched a new Set-Top Box Energy Consumption working group. The group is meant to regulate standards of energy consumption in televisions and connected devices.
“This working group has established itself as a leader in energy measurement standards for set-top boxes and will now expand into stand-alone DVRs,” CEA vice president of Technology and Standards Brian Markwalter said as part of the group's announcement. “In addition, the group will incorporate updates to its suite of standards originally published in 2006 and clarify the procedures for measuring energy usage in televisions.
