We’ve seen a number of Bluetooth boomboxes and portable projectors roll through these pages in the past few months, but the thought of combining those products is not something that’s been touched on—until now. The recently launched Dashbon Flicks is a portable “entertainment powerhouse” that combines the two convenient and portable technologies into one, well two, powerful products.
Flicks lets users watch movies through the built in HD LED projector or listen to their tunes via Bluetooth 4.0 without having to deal with wall outlets or long extension cords. It comes in two models: the 140WH and 280WH. The 140WH provides up to four hours on continuous movie playback and 28 hours of Bluetooth music streaming on a single charge. The 280WH doubles those numbers.
The beauty of the Flicks is in the details, though. The device is able to produce a 100-inch HD image from just eight feet away from the surface upon which it is projecting. Two precision-tuned full-range speakers support the high-fidelity audio system, and it comes complete with a subwoofer and microphone. And the Flicks supports a wide range of content playback methods, including streaming media devices through the HDMI port or USB ports—it’s even compatible with devices like Roku, Google Chromecast, and the Amazon Fire TV stick.
