TV Vendors Bludgeon Dealers with Delayed Rebate Payments
The first TV manufacturer that agrees to increase the speed in which it pays dealers reimbursements on consumer instant rebates will become the hero of the retail channel. Those that continue the damaging practice of delaying those payments will rightly suffer.
The problem has reached a breaking point. Ask any buying group executive to name the biggest problem facing their business and they'll cite the delayed payments as the No. 1 issue. Dealers say the same.
TV manufacturers, well aware the problem, continue to ignore those legitimate complaints. They give the same patronizing answer that they're working on their internal systems to fix the problem. But everyone, including the manufacturers, knows that answer is a big steaming pile of horseshit that's stinking up the barnyard.
