BlackBerry Returns After System Failure
The popular BlackBerry handheld wireless network suffered a “massive system failure” Tuesday night that continued into Wednesday, Dow Jones and the AP reported. The network came back online at around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, the AP said.
What caused the error that disrupted service for the nation’s approximately nine million BlackBerry users, was unknown as of press time. Callers to BlackBerry’s customer support hotline received a recorded message that “we are currently experiencing technical difficulties that may cause delays in sending or receiving messages.”
The interruption cut out service throughout the U.S., but European users appeared unaffected, the IDG New Service reported.
