The Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA) said Tuesday that its members are available for consultations on how customers can improve the energy efficiency of their homes. The statement was issued in light of incentives for residential solar panel installation and other energy efficiency methods that were included in the recent federal stimulus package.
"The installation of home automation systems is often overlooked as a way to get control of energy use in the home," HTSA's director of training, David Berman, said as part of the statement.
"Primarily, we define home automation as the integration of all disparate electronic systems, giving you one interface to easily access and control them. The goal is to simplify life and make it easier to enjoy the home. At the same time, automation of HVAC, lighting, and entertainment systems minimizes utility consumption in the home."
