How To Merchandise Convergence
The hottest trend in merchandising today happens to coincide with one of the hottest CE solutions: Convergence.
“The key word now is convergence; putting together TVs, computers and content,” said Albert Turick of TurickDesign, a merchandising, store design and fixture development consultant who works closely with the Nationwide buying group. “Convergence also gives the retailer a huge opportunity to sell services. Now it’s all about the other components that make the solution completely interactive.”
3D and IP TV have essentially changed a big piece of the merchandising game. The huge TV wall and haphazard TV displays are a thing of the past, industry leaders have been saying for the last 12 months. “It’s about what this TV can do that others can’t,” Turick said.
