Verizon and LG May Combat iPhone With Prada
Will Verizon wear Prada? Facing major competition to come from Apple’s AT&T-affiliated iPhone, Verizon and LG are said to be readying a competing product, the LG Prada. TheStreet.com reported late last week that the KE 850, also known also known as the Prada, is on the way later this year. TheStreet cited industry watchers in its report.
The Prada has already appeared in England and is said to look “very similar” to the iPhone, while also offering camera and music functionality. The iPhone has an exclusive five-year contract with AT&T, meaning that other providers are locked out of working with what is likely the hottest telecom hardware product in memory.
The Italian fashion house of the same name assisted in the development of the Prada, TheStreet columnist Scott Moritz wrote. The product sells in England for $600, about $100 more than the iPhone’s starting price.
