Obama Calls Again For DTV Delay
Just days before his inauguration, President-Elect Barack Obama once again called for a delay in the Feb. 17 DTV transition.
According to the Voices blog on the Washington Post's Web site, Obama's transition chief, John Podesta, has written a second letter to Congressional leaders asking for the transition date to be pushed back. The incoming administration supports a delay until June 12, which is the date proposed in bills introduced in both the House and Senate.
Congressional Republicans have thus far opposed any change in the date; Sen. John McCain of Arizona wrote a letter of his own Monday supporting that position.
