The Outform iDISPLAY Infrared Thermometer Checks Customer Temperatures at the Door
Miami-based retail innovation company Outform has launched its iDISPLAY Thermometer, designed to help retailers provide safer spaces for customers for where the COVID-19 lockdown has been lifted.
The device utilizes infrared thermopile and facial recognition technology to detect fever levels through body temperature readings at a store’s entrance or threshold. Anyone registering a temperature of 100.4° F or above will be alerted discreetly on-screen that they may have a fever. The device works when people are wearing face masks; optional add-ons include hand sanitizer dispensers and ticketing functions to help aid the customer flow for varied retail environments.
Designed to instill a sense of trust, safety and reassurance on the post-pandemic high street, an online version of the iDISPLAY allows the unit to be integrated within retailers’ existing digital ecosystems, says the company.
The iDISPLAY Thermometer is FCC-certified and is available with several different stands, including a plinth for checkout counters, to suit various retail environments.
“The device is designed to be flexible to work across various parts of the economy, including gyms, bars, offices and municipal spaces,” Ariel Haroush, CEO at Outform, notes.
