Dan Schwab sees similar migration patterns in some of D&H's VARs. "Ultimately where a lot of this migration came from is a that a [VAR] went into a small business, set up the wireless network and the storage system and maybe threw a plasma on the wall so the president could watch CNN during the day," he explains. "Then all of a sudden the kid at home has an Xbox and is bugging the dad for wireless networking. So who does the president of the company have as a resource to look for? Well, the IT guy at work."
Though many VARs are starting to move into the home on their own, distributors are also working to move them into the space proactively, recognizing the potential for increased business.
