The Sense Smart Home Hub by Silk Labs Hits Kickstarter, and Its Already Fully Funded
What is Sense? Well, according to the opening lines of its Kickstarter page, which was published on Wednesday, the Sense smart home hub, developed by Silk Labs is a “beautifully designed, powerful, and intelligent addition to any modern connected home.” The smart home hub is the first product to run on the Silk platform for connected devices, and utilizes “local processing and deep learning” to provide the user with smart responsiveness with all of their connected devices.
At its core, Sense is a connected camera that lets the user keep an eye on their abode whether they’re at home or on the go. But in reality it is much more than just a security device. Sense acts as the eyes, ears, and brains of the connected home, taking into account context, people, places, time, objects, motion, gestures, voice commands, and more.
“Silk-enabled hardware, like Sense, has the ability to act based on you and your family’s needs, helping you live your life by making the devices around you more responsive,” the makers explain on their Kickstarter page. “Lights can turn on when you need them... Music that you like will play... Sense can adjust the thermostat ... Sense can do all of this automatically because it knows your preferences and routines.”
