Dish Accused of Do-Not-Call Violations
The U.S. government last week filed suit against Dish Network, accusing the company of working with authorized dealers to circumvent the national Do-Not-Call list.
According to Reuters the federal government, as well as four states (California, Illinois, Ohio and North Carolina), have combined to file the suit. It seeks a cessation of the calls, as well as unspecified civil penalties.
In a statement, Dish stated that "We respectfully disagree with the allegations made today by the Federal Trade Commission and certain States that DISH Network has engaged in 'do-not-call' violations and that DISH Network should be held responsible for 'do-not-call' violations by independent retailers."
