Better Business Bureau Warns of Converter Box Scam
The Better Business Bureau issued a warning last month about a company called Universal TechTronics, which has been placing advertising in newspapers nationwide offering “free” digital-TV converter boxes. According to MSNBC.com, signing up for the “free” box requires a $59 warranty, plus shipping and handling. The BBB issued the alert after receiving nearly 200 complaints.
