Bomb Squad in the Home of the Geek Squad
A Delaware Best Buy location was evacuated last week after a pair of suspicious packages were delivered. However, after the bomb squad was called in, it was determined to be a false alarm. The Mansfield News Journal reported that the packages arrived at the store early on the morning of April 17, containing a note that “could have been misconstrued as a bomb threat.” The packages were given the all-clear around two hours later, after they were found to contain an old Sony camcorder.
A police captain told the newspaper that the camera probably belonged to “someone who needed something fixed and couldn’t wait for the store to open,” although the package did not contain anyone’s name or identification. He added that criminal charges could be filed.
