Man Robs Walmart on a Stolen Bike; Bites Cop
A man who police describe as homeless was arrested last week and charged with stealing personal care and electronics products from a Walmart in Florida, while also stealing a bicycle which he used to drive out of the store, Naples News reported. The man also bit a police officer who was arresting him, and was charged with possessing a controlled substance when three dozen Xanax pills fell out of his bag.
Blu-ray Ring Busted in Florida
Law enforcement authorities in Central Florida busted a retail theft ring that had stolen Blu-ray Discs totally more than $1 million in value over the course of several years. According to Home Media Magazine, three conspirators were arrested for taking Blu-ray discs, audio books and other products from several chains, including Target and Circuit City. The ring's leader was charged with several counts, including dealing in stolen property, an organized scheme to defraud, and dealing in stolen property by use of the Internet.
Theft Ring Caught in Oregon
Police on the Oregon coast arrested eight individuals and charged them with participating in a ring that carried out 22 burglaries since April. According to KPTV, a business called Car Audio 101 was one of the hardest hit. The thieves generally broke into the stores, triggering alarms, and then took whatever they could in 30-45 seconds before police arrived. The owner of a store called The Wheeler Dealer was among those arrested.
