Thousands Talk Trends and Get Hands-On with the Hottest New Tech at CE Week 2018
CE Week concluded yesterday after two days of interactive exhibits, engaging conference sessions, networking events and meetups. From connected lifestyle to augmented reality/virtual reality, wearables to retail, the show had something for everyone. Over the course of the two days, there were hundreds of products on display and more than 15 conference sessions attracting thousands of media and CE industry professionals from across the nation.
CE Week kicked off on Wednesday morning with The Retailer Meetups, where retailers, distributors and buying groups had one-on-one meetings with vendors to connect, exchange ideas and build relationships. “The Retailer Meetups were fantastic. It was great meeting with vendors that we don’t typically see, who are bringing innovative products to the market that align with our vision,” said Angus Bryan, Senior VP of Merchandising-Electronics, BrandsMart USA.
Hundreds of press got a first look at new technology debuting at the show. OLFINITY launched the first-ever smart home ecosystem that brings together indoor air quality, air purification and aromatherapy to create an unparalleled wellness environment. Sensible Object debuted Voice Originals, the first family board game to connect to Alexa for a voice-enhanced gaming experience. Eyetemp announced a device that wirelessly monitors potentially dangerous heat levels on household items and sends out an alert if items are left on for too long or reach dangerous temperatures. ”We’ve received a phenomenal amount of feedback and exposure launching our product at CE Week,” said Danielle Michel, CEO, Eyetemp. ”It was an excellent learning experience speaking to press and consumers.”
The CE Week Conference Program covered hot topics including connected lifestyle, wearables, augmented and virtual reality, crowdfunding, retail and beyond. Also part of the conference was CONNECT2CAR where thought-provoking panels explored the future of automotive technology, discussed driver safety and the driver’s changing role, and covered how drivers and passengers interact with the vehicle for comfort, entertainment and information.
At the VIP Cocktail Reception on Wednesday evening, several product awards were given out for ‘Best in Show’, presented by Dealerscope, which was awarded to twenty companies with the industry’s coolest products and technologies: 3Doodler, Como Audio, Westinghouse Electronics, Nuheara, Pioneer Electronics, remo+, Eyetemp, ThirdEye, Gen Inc., ZVOX Audio, AirSelfie, eBlocker, Jabra, KidsConnect, NeoLAB Convergence, OLFINITY, Owl Cameras, Sensible Object, SiliconDust, smart sketcher, Cleer Inc. “CE Week 2018 was another successful event for Pioneer,“ said Ted Cardenas, VP of Marketing, Pioneer Electronics USA. “The diversity of attendees and exhibitors was the perfect mix for showcasing our latest automotive electronics that also connect to the smart home.”
