Three states legislators in California have written a letter to the California Energy Commission informing them of their intention to hold hearings into the commission's proposed energy efficiency standards for TVs.
The letter was written by Mary Hayashi, Felipe Fuentes and Alex Padilla, all Democratic members of the state assembly. They said that the hearing would likely take place in September, and asked the commission to hold off on further action until that time.
"While we do not dispute the authority of the CEC to propose and adopt energy limits on television and other products, we have concerns regarding the potential economic impact to the California General Fund," the lawmakers wrote. "Additionally, we are concerned that the energy limits could affect innovation of high-tech products."
