There have been several different studies conducted around the world listing items that people most commonly misplace. And within each of those studies, you’ll notice that headphones always make the top ten. For the other items on the list (wallets, keys, purses), Tile came up with a smart locating solution that attaches to items and assists in finding them when lost. Since there was no real way to attach a small, square chip to a pair of headphones, Tile had to get a little creative.
Today, the cloud-based finding platform announced an expansion of their partnership with Skullcandy to integrate Tile’s tracking technology into three of the company’s latest headphones: Vert, Method Active and Ink’d+ Active. Beginning today, users can access the headphones within the Tile app, and choose between three different options to help find them when they (inevitably) get lost. Those include ringing the device similar to a phone, checking the item’s last known location on a map, or enlisting the help of the Tile’s global community as a last resort when an item is truly lost.
“Vert, Method Active and Ink’d+ Active were all created with adventure in mind. We’ve again partnered with Skullcandy to ensure adventures aren’t interrupted by lost headphones,” said Bryan Rodrigues, Tile’s VP of Marketing.
Since its inception, Tile has grown to enlist 20 partners in the categories of audio, travel, chip, health and more. The Tile ecosystem as a whole continues to grow through the company’s strategic partnerships, and availability within 195 countries. On a daily basis, Tile helps find roughly six million lost items, saving people time, hassle, and money.
Vert, Method Active and Ink’d+ Active headphones with Tile smart location technology are currently available for purchase on skullcandy.com.
