Toshiba Recalls 10,000 Laptop Batteries
Toshiba on Thursday announced a recall of 10,000 Sony laptop battery packs, due to a potential risk of fire, Reuters reported.
The recall came due to three incidents in the past 10 months in which PCs have been caught fire; Toshiba traced the battery packs that were manufactured on the same day in December of 2005. The recall is worldwide, as the batteries were distributed in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
Toshiba last year recalled 800,000 batteries, also made by Sony, with other recalls also hitting Dell, Apple and other companies in recent years.
