Toshiba, Sharp Team Up on LCDs
The Japanese electronics giants Toshiba and Sharp announced that they’re coming together on production of LCD TVs, with Toshiba using LCD panels made by Sharp. According to the Wall Street Journal, the move represents a shift in the companies’ strategy, as both will now concentrate on LCD technologies, as opposed to plasma and rear projection.
Sharp also agreed to buy more image processing chips from Toshiba. Exact financial terms were not disclosed.
