Touchscreen Smartphone Domination Seen Continuing
The move towards touchscreen smartphones is expected to accelerate to the point in which 97 percent of the devices have touchscreens by 2016.
That's according to numbers released Friday by ABI Research. This is a change from just 7 percent in the pre-iPhone days of 2006, and 75 percent last year.
"The screen is the point of fulfillment for all that a mobile device promises to deliver to its user, so there is little surprise in the impact it can have on its success," ABI said as part of the study's release.
