The data storage company Trekstor this week introduced a new external hard drive that can hold one terabyte of data, according to a story in Information Week.
The drive, called Nero BackItUp2, consists of 2 500GB hard drives that combine into one drive, and compresses files during backup. It is available at a suggested retail price of $430.
Hitachi in January announced the impending release of a one-terabyte hard drive, for DVR purposes. And in March, an Israeli company called Mempile announced that it was about to introduce the world’s first-ever terabyte disc.
