Tricked Out for Hot Import Nights
The majority of Hot Import Nights' space currently is dominated by smaller independent mobile electronics dealers, participating by purchasing booth space and bringing a demo vehicle. Circuit City has presence at Dallas, Chicago and Seattle and usually brings a demo vehicle courtesy of one of their brands (such as Sony or MTX).
Some wonder if there is room for more explosive growth, or is the import scene just a fad? Russell contends, "If we can grow the scene, it will be better for us. And the way that we have figured out to make more people come to an event is to use a fun element. As more people who are not necessarily into the cars come to the events, the more exposure they will have to cool cars. Eventually, you'll have a kid saying, 'Wow, that is cool. I want to do that to my Civic. I really need a stereo system like that guy's...' "
Vision Entertainment is working on new events for next year, including a drag-racing style event called Nightshift. Russell said, "When we do a show in one city, we want it to be as good as everyone else's city. That's a big reason for our success."
