Tuesday in CE: Apple Introduces Education-Focused iPad
Live from Chicago, Tim Cook and his team at Apple have released a refreshed line of iPads that are aimed at the education industry. Going on sale Tuesday, the familiar design starts at $329 and supports Apple's Pencil stylus on faster hardware.
Are we impressed? Not really, but we aren't confused by the move either. Apple needs a win in the education industry after ultra-affordable Chromebooks and ever-persistent Windows laptops ousted them from the classroom.
The new iPad has an updated version of Apple's Pages and Numbers, making it stylus-friendly and easier to share workflows between student peers and the teacher. Underscoring that is a free increase of 200 GB for online storage.
