Tuesday in CE: Google Investigating Pixel 2 XL OLED Burn-In Issue
Something about these big phones launching has really put some of the biggest tech companies in a bind over the past few years. With Apple, it was Bendgate as some of its first Plus-sized phones were found to bend very easily. Samsung last year had the well document issues with Note7 batteries exploding. Now it looks like Google is experiencing some difficulties with it’s Pixel 2 XL device.
Barely a week old, reports are surfacing that the Pixel 2 XL’s OLED screen is showing signs of burn-in, where certain elements of the user interface remain visible even after switching screens.
In a statement given to TechCrunch, a Google spokesperson confirmed that the company was looking into those reports.
