Tuesday in CE: Google's Smart Display to Rival Amazon Echo Show
The minor spat between Amazon and Google is starting to feel like an all-out war. It's something that Amazon is certainly used to at this point, but they certainly have never had someone as big as Google attempting to beat them at every corner.
The newest weapon from Google is four new "smart displays" from Lenovo, JBL, LG, and Sony. Underscoring that is a plethora of compatible smart speakers and TVs from almost too many partners to name.
The smart display at CES sports either a 10.1-inch or 8-inch IPS display, up to 4GB flash memory and start at $199. Packed with a Snapdragon 624 processor, it's otherwise everything you expect from Google Assistant baked into a speaker. The obvious advantage is the screen giving a visual element for recipes, video calls, and interconnectivity of doorbells and security cameras.
