Tweeter Owner Drops 80 Employees at Headquarters
Schultze Asset Management, the firm that purchased the assets of Tweeter earlier this summer, said Friday that it had eliminated 80 jobs from the companies headquarters outside Boston, the Boston Herald reported Sunday.
The cuts comprise a full 50 percent of the staff of the Canton, Mass. offices, the Herald said. Those being let go were notified via letters, delivered on Friday, that their jobs were eliminated, effective immediately.
In a conference call with reporters in July, Tweeter CEO Joe McGuire said that there were ”no concrete plans” at the time for employee layoffs or further store closings.
