Day After Shutdown, Tweeter Site is Hacked
The day after it announced it was shutting all of its stores, bankrupt electronics retailer Tweeter got another piece of bad news- its Web site, Tweeter.com, was hacked.
Unknown hackers replaced the company's home page, which for the last few weeks had advertised its liquidation sale, with a photograph of President Bush extending his middle finger. Underneath, text appeared stating that "George Schultze [principal of the company's last owner, Schultze Asset Management, "is the George Bush of Tweeter," while going on to call Craig Boucher "his lackey" and a "flat out liar."
The image, by mid-morning on Wednesday, was gone from the Web site, which appeared to have been taken down altogether.
