Two From Thermador, for the Ultra-Luxury Client
Thermador is catering to the ultra-luxury client who is deep into entertaining, with two of its newest products.
For an MSRP of $2,399, the Thermador Radiance Collection Glass Care Center dishwasher has reached the market – and it is designed specifically to provide the kid-gloves treatment to all manner of glassware.
It is the answer to the inveterate cocktail party host’s two most pressing needs: a healthy supply of sparkling-clean long- and short-stemmed drinking glasses, and an easy way to handle the post-event cleanup process. This washer features a tine-less configuration to maximize capacity, and operates on a gentle cycle with a no-slip, soft rubber lower rack and adjustable stands designed to secure stems. The Glass Care Center accommodates glassware of various shapes and sizes – from beer steins, to cocktail glasses, to champagne flutes – and it features what the company says is the industry’s largest wine glass capacity of up to 26 large wine glasses.
The upper rack is designed to wash utensils, small plates, cutlery and bar tools, and includes a special basket for small entertaining utensils. It operates in what Thermador terms Powerfully Quiet mode, has a Push to Open feature, which makes loading it up with glasses an easy and hands-free task, and its aesthetics are enhanced with a blue LED-lit interior.
The company’s 36-inch Freedom induction cooktop provides clients who love to entertain at home with what the company says is the largest fully usable cooking surface available on the market. Up to six pots or pans can be heated simultaneously anywhere on the surface because of a “pot detection” feature that senses the presence and exact positions of a cooking vessel; further, it is flexible enough in that it can transfer all programmed temperature settings to the pot’s or pan’s new location whenever that pot or pan is shifted. The cooktop comes in 30- and 36-inch models, and is controllable via a color touch screen. Another smart feature, Cooktop Hood Sync, allows for synchronization between the cooktop and matching hood for task lighting and ventilation.
Both appliances are controllable via the Home Connect app.
