Two More “Rabbit Ears Pioneers” Announced
The Consumer Electronics Association and National Association of Broadcasters on Monday announced the latest semifinalists in their “Rabbit Ears Pioneers” contest, meant to encourage longtime TV watchers to share their rabbit-ear stories, while spreading DTV transition awareness.
The latest winners are Tracey Huffman of Astoria, N.Y., and Cara Lustik of Forest Hills, N.Y., who were selected after Lustik wrote an essay about her friend Huffman. As a result, both winners will receive a GE digital TV converter box and RCA digital reception antenna, while becoming eligible for the grand prize of a high-definition home entertainment center.
“If we can put a man on the moon, we can certainly put a decent working television set into a Queens apartment,” Lustik wrote in the essay, about her friend who still uses an antenna.
