UNBOXED: Reviewing the Crosley Cruiser Deluxe Record Player
With Record Store Day right around the corner, we thought it apropos to review a product by one of the top names in the consumer-friendly old-school audio space. The Crosley Cruiser launched in October and was pushed as a portable turntable for the entry-level vinyl enthusiast. We took the Cruiser for a spin (pun absolutely intended), and were left impressed, albeit a little underwhelmed.
Some of what excited me about the Cruiser Deluxe—before taking it out of the box—was that it included some pretty cool functionality. Crosley built a product that lets the user play 33s, 45s, and 78s; they packed Bluetooth into the thing so you can stream audio from your smartphone of choice; and all of this is packed nicely into a portable, stylish-looking suitcase that measures a little more than a foot long and a few inches high.
