UNBOXED: Reviewing the 1MORE Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones
To put it rather bluntly, I’ve never been a real fan of the around-the-neck segment of headphones that have become increasingly popular over the last few years. I find that most options in this space are not comfortable or downright awkward to wear, and they end up feeling more in the way when they’re, in theory, supposed to keep your headphones out of the way. Perhaps, though, the problem was just that I hadn’t found the right pair of these in-ear, around-the-next options to suit my needs. Like they have with their previous headphone options that we’ve been able to review, 1MORE seems to have provided me with that solution.
The company’s Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones live up to everything we’ve come to expect from this edgy yet sophisticated audio brand. They come with the Hi-Res Audio seal, which signifies their top-notch tuning and performance. The playback comes through with a noticeable (but not overwhelming) boost to the bass, which is a desirable trait to this reviewer. That type of sound profile could be seen as a bit muddling to others and depending on the type of musical selection the user prefers, but it certainly puts the power of these headphones on full display.
As for the comfort level of wearing these headphones, the neckband itself is a super flexible and soft rubberized texture. Part of what makes other options in this category so difficult to get behind is the fact that most utilize a plastic piece that encompasses the entirety of the device. The intent of the product is to entice the user to wear it all day, being able to simply put in and remove the earpieces at will. But if the build of the product isn’t comfortable—which most aren’t—or if the design makes it get caught awkwardly in your attire, it really defeats the purpose.
That’s where 1MORE really stepped it up though with the Triple Driver BT’s. The product is comfortable. The design prevents it from being an awkward wear. And they’re incredibly lightweight, all of which is an added bonus to the excellent sound quality.
These headphones aren’t lacking on high-end technology either. 1MORE built these Triple Drivers around a hi-res LDAC Bluetooth codec, which allows for 990 kbps transmission speeds of wireless audio—three times higher than the standard rate. The company also optimized these headphones for iOS with a high-res Bluetooth chip that has AAC transmission, providing better sounding wireless audio at similar bit rates. Essentially, the music you’re used to listening to on your iPhone will end up sounding crisper and better on these than they will another pair of Bluetooth headphones.
Additionally, they have environmental noise cancellation technology, which uses a precise microphone array that can filter out certain background noises. And there’s simple one-button access to your voice assistant built right into the neckband. As for battery life, the 1MORE Triple Drivers give you seven hours on a full charge, and, if you’re in a bind, a quick-charge feature means a 10-minute plug in will net you two full hours of listening time.
Perhaps most exciting of all, though, is that these headphones utilize the USB-C standard for charging—another example of companies opting to implement the technology since my recent rant about the slow adoption of the standard. Major props to 1MORE for jumping on board with these headphones.
So, all around, this is another winning product from 1MORE. It’s proof that not ever around the neck headphone has to suck. It comes down to the comfortable build quality and the impressive audio performance, both of which combine to make these a strong product in every aspect.
