You have to credit smartphone makers for the amount of attention they’ve paid to improving the camera over the years. The smartphones we’re carrying around nowadays are literally 10-times better than the digital cameras that we were also carrying around just a handful of years ago. But even as the megapixel count rises, smartphone cameras on their own will forever be limited by the form factor of the phones themselves. Sure, dual-lenses have enabled greater “optical zoom,” different shooting modes allow for creative images, and filters let us do some cool post-shot editing. But smartphones cameras as they stand are fairly limited.
And that’s where a company like olloclip can step in to help.
Olloclip has a whole lineup of unique smartphone lens kits—mostly for the iPhone, but there are a couple of Samsung Galaxy products available as well as some for iPads. Recently, the company launched a new series of lens kits for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which we had the opportunity to bring to CES with us to play around with.
