UNBOXED: Reviewing the VAVA Voom 20 Bluetooth Speaker
The Bluetooth speaker market is, for all intents and purposes, a wild jungle where consumers are left hacking their way through all sorts of different product without any real guidance. We recently looked (on purpose) at three different Bluetooth speakers that essentially look the exact same—they’re three rectangular, black, Bluetooth-enabled boxes. They all play music, they all tout similar buzzwords in their feature sets, and they all exist in the same world of Bluetooth speakers. But they come with three very different price tags.
It all goes to show that we as a community—from tech reporters, to retailers, to manufacturers—owe it to the consumer to help them discern the differences between these different products in order to help them pick the perfect product for their needs.
With that in mind, we wanted to give a solid breakdown of some Bluetooth speakers that fall into different subcategories in this wide market. We scooped up one that could be considered an entry-level Bluetooth speaker (VAVA), another that’s more of a mid-tier speaker (Soundcast), and a top-of-the-line speaker (V-MODA).
