U.S. Smartphone Penetration Crosses 100 Million
The number of mobile subscribers in the U.S. who use smartphones has crossed 100 million, Comscore said this week as part of its MobiLens service report.
The firm also reported that Google and Apple continue to dominate in market share for smartphones, with Google's Android taking 48.6 percent of the market and Apple's iOS 29.5, as opposed to 46.3 and 28.1 percent when the survey was last taken in October. RIM is third with 15.2 percent and Microsoft fourth with 4.4 percent.
On the OEM side for overall mobile phones, Samsung maintained the top spot with 25.4 percent, followed by LG with 19.7 and Motorola with 13.2.
