In an effort to market their growing FiOS network, Verizon Communications, Inc. has launched two retail stores focused on the fiber optic technology. The Verizon Experience, now open in Fairfax, Va. and Southlake, Texas, exposes customers to FiOS-enhanced gadgets, games and HDTVs. Verizon has opened these stores in locations where FiOS has the highest penetration of the 16 states in which the internet service is currently available or the seven states in which FiOS TV has launched. Other FiOS marketing strategies include door-to-door sales representatives, direct mail and ice cream trucks that serve free food to potential customers who inquire about availability in their area.
