Verizon To Up FiOS Speeds
Verizon Wednesday said that it plans to boost the speed of its FiOS Internet service in ten U.S. states. The announcement from company COO Denny Strigl came during a conference and were reported by the Associated Press.
The states that will see an almost two-fold increase in speed are California, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Speeds had already increased in Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.
The move comes as Verizon’s cable competitors, led by Comcast, are pursuing speed increases of their own.
