Verizon Makes Droid X Official
Verizon Wireless and Motorola Wednesday officially announced the next Motorola-made Droid smartphone, the Droid X, which is the sequel to last year's popular original Droid. That phone, introduced last fall, was Verizon's first Android product, and the best-selling phone to date using that operating system.
The phone is bigger, with a 4.3-inch high-resolution screen, with both Android 2.2 and Adobe Flash Player 10.1 set to arrive in an update later this summer. Other features include an 8-megapixel camera, HD camcorder and Blockbuster On Demand presented by V CAST Video.
“Motorola designed DROID X to push the extreme limits of Android innovation, and enable you to do even more with your mobile device," Motorola co-CEO Sanjay Jha said as part of the announcement. "We are breaking down barriers so that you can experience the Web the way it was meant to be and create, share and view content like never before, either in your hand or in your home.
