Verizon’s Seidenberg to Receive CEA Award
The Consumer Electronics Association announced yesterday that it has selected Ivan Seidenberg, and chairman and CEO of Verizon, will be the 2008 recipient of its Digital Patriot Award. The award will be presented April 2 at the Digital Patriots Dinner IN Washington, as part of the CEA Washington Forum.
Seidenberg, CEO of Verizon for the past eight years, will receive the honor because “he has changed the way consumers communicate and has led his company to be one of the most successful in the world,” CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement.
Dell founder Michael Dell was last year’s honoree, while Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Rep. Joe Barton and Sen. John Ensign were all honored in 2006.
