Gaming Sales Drop
Video game sales in the U.S. dropped 7.6 percent in November, as hardware sales plunged 13.4 percent and software sales fell 3.1 percent. The overall sales were measured at $2.7 billion.
While the Nintendo Wii was the top-selling console, the PlayStation 3 was the only one of the big three consoles to show year-over-year growth. However, combined sales of the DS and DSi were measured at 1.7 million, ahead of all three major consoles.
The Xbox and PS3 versions of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" took the top two spots in software sales, beating out the Wii's "New Super Mario Bros."
