"I believe that lightning has struck twice in my life," the 54-year-old Antar, director of marketing and strategic planning for the budding online incarnation of Crazy Eddie that launched in January 2001. "I got greedy, and when you get greedy, you get stupid. I did things that were very wrong and I hurt my family. If this becomes successful, it's my chance to redeem myself."
Antar along with CEO Dave Jones and President and COO Ted Vagelos, formerly of Aon and Priceline.com respectively, have spent the past year developing an online business model based upon the philosophies and successes of the old brick and mortar Crazy Eddie.
But don't think of it as just a dot-com. Sure their only location is a Web page, but with the inclusion of a toll free number, it puts a certain personal element into the selling that you won't find with an ordinary Internet shopping cart.
