Vizio Was Top LCD Brand in Fourth Quarter
Vizio came out on top in domestic LCD TV market share for both the fourth quarter and the full year in 2010, the company said Thursday.
According to DisplaySearch figures, Vizio took the #1 spot with 18.2 percent market share for LCD in North America, followed by Samsung with 17.5 percent, with Funai, Sony, LG, Toshiba and Sanyo following. An iSuppli measure of market share that comprised only the United States also had Vizio #1 (with 21.3 percent) followed by Samsung, Sony and LG.
Vizio also cited iSuppli numbers that placed it tops in U.S. sales of LCD in the fourth quarter, followed by Samsung and LG.
